Why We Exist

The Mission and Vision of Palm Valley Church

We want to see all people turn to Christ and join us in a journey as we become more and more like Him each day.

Everything we do hinges on this mission because in this dark and hurting world, people need to know the life-changing power of Jesus Christ. It’s important to us that when anyone enters our doors they experience a church…

….”whose head is Jesus, whose help is the Holy Spirit, and whose focus is the Great Commission. I see a Church where all people can turn to God and be transformed into fully devoted followers of Christ. I see a Church whose heartfelt praise and worship touches Heaven and changes Earth, and whose worship exalts Christ with powerful songs of faith and hope. The Church that I see has a message so clear that lives are changed forever and potential is fulfilled through the power of His Word.  This is a church of true disciples formed and shaped by the power of the Word of God. I see a Church so compassionate that people are drawn from impossible situations into a loving and friendly circle of hope, where answers are found and acceptance is given. The Church that I see is a Church committed to raising, training, and empowering a leadership generation. The Church that I see is a Church of influence. This is a Church of such size that the city and community cannot ignore it.  This is a church that grows so quickly that buildings struggle to contain the increase. I see a people so Kingdom-minded that they will count whatever the cost and pay whatever the price, to see a spiritual awakening sweep the land. Yes, the church that I see could well be our church – Palm Valley Church.”

Rick Gannon has been in full-time ministry for over 30 years. He is the Lead Pastor of Palm Valley Church and together with his wife Teri has three children.

Rick has a passion to see all people experience the life-changing message of Christ and connect to the amazing community of Palm Valley Church.

What We Believe

We follow Jesus, teach from the Bible, and worship God, the Creator and Ruler of the universe.

We believe through our relationship with Jesus Christ, we are loved, redeemed, forgiven, transformed and healed.

God, the Creator, and Ruler of the universe, eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three, known as the Trinity, are co-equal and one God.

Genesis 1:1 | Genesis 1:26-27 | Genesis 3:22 | Psalm 90:2 | Matthew 28:19 | 2 Corinthians 13:14 | 1 Peter 1:2

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is equal with the Father. Jesus became fully man, lived a sinless human life, and then offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. After three days, He rose from the dead demonstrating His power over sin and death, then ascended to Heaven. He will one day return to reign as King of kings and Lord over all lords.

Isaiah 9:6 | Matthew 1:22-23 | John 1:1-5 | John 1:14 | John 1:10-30 | Acts 1:9-11 | Romans 1:3-4 | 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 | Hebrews 4:14-15 | 1 Timothy 6:14-15 | Titus 2:13 | Peter 1:2

The Holy Spirit, equal with the Father and the Son of God, is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation and provides every Christ follower with power for living, understanding spiritual truth, and guidance for living according to the Word of God. Scripture challenges all Christ followers to seek God wholeheartedly and daily live surrendered to His authority. The Holy Spirit also gives spiritual gifts for the purpose of glorifying God and encouraging others. Christ followers are to supremely regard the fruit of the Spirit as they reflect the character and nature of God, in all things.

Matthew 7:22-23 | John 16:7-13 | John 14:16-17 | Acts 1:4 | Acts 1:5 | Acts 1:8 | 1 Corinthians 2:12 | 1 Corinthians 3:16 | 2 Corinthians 3:17 | Ephesians 1:13 | Ephesians 5:18 | Galatians 5:25

The Bible, God’s Word was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Inspired by God, the Bible is truth without a mixture of error, the source of Christian beliefs, and the final authority for living.

Psalm 119:105 | Psalm 119:160 | Proverbs 30:5 | 2 | Timothy 1:13 | 2 Timothy 3:15-16 | 2 Peter 1:20-21

People, made in the spiritual image of God to be like Him in character, are the supreme objects of God’s creation. Through Christ, all people have tremendous potential for good, but all are marred by disobedience toward their Creator, which God calls sin.

Genesis 1:27 | Psalm 8:3-6 | Isaiah 53:6a | Isaiah 59:1-2 | Romans 3:23

Salvation, God’s offered redemption for sin, is provided through the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross. All who, by faith, turn from self-rule to Jesus Christ are forgiven by God and freed from the penalty of sin. No sin is beyond God’s ability or willingness to forgive. Salvation, given by grace, is not attained through self-improvement or good works. Any person who believes that Jesus rose from the dead and confesses that Jesus is Lord of his life, is saved and made a new, spiritual creation.

John 14:6 | Romans 5:1 | Romans 6:23 | Galatians 3:26 | Ephesians 2:8-9 | Titus 3:5

Eternity, God’s will for every human is to experience a life-transforming relationship that is found only in Christ. All humanity will experience a bodily resurrection and a judgment that will determine the fate of each individual. Having rejected God, unbelievers will suffer eternal condemnation apart from Him. Those who choose to follow Christ and His ways, will enter eternal communion with God.

John 3:16 | John 14:17 | Romans 6:23 | Romans 8:17-18 | 1 Corinthians 2:7-9 | Revelation 20:15

We believe that people matter to God; and since they matter to God, they matter to us! We want our love for God to be shown in our love for each other. Regardless of where you are in your faith journey, at Hope, we strive to create a safe environment for all people.
Whoever you are, you are welcome at Hope! If you’re still in the discovery process, we want you to simply come and experience God’s love.

Ever since the very first church began 2000 years ago, community has been at its core. In Acts 2, the Bible says that “All the believers devoted themselves to the Apostle’s teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals, and to prayer.” We believe that model is still important to every believer today.

We believe that there is so much more to Hope Fellowship than attending a service. In 1 Corinthians 12:27, the Bible says “All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you are a part of it.”
Since each of us matter at Hope, we long for you to connect to the mission of Hope Fellowship to invite everyone to find Jesus and help them move to the center of God’s purpose for their lives.

We believe in an active faith in God and a lifestyle of serving others. Jesus modeled this, as Mark 10:45 says, “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Join us as we reach out to others around us through ministry teams, local outreach, and mission trips.
